Site History

This domain was previously used as a beauty blog that focused on the author’s reviews of makeup and skincare products.

One positive sign about this domain is that it still has a lot of pages in Google’s index (about 200 pages).

According to, someone appears to have tried to relaunch the site with 20 beauty-related articles in 2021 but gave up. The relaunch did not have any red flags.

Growth Blueprint

Since this domain was previously a personal blog about beauty products, it is a good candidate to be relaunched as an informational and affiliate site focused on makeup and skincare products.

Here’s what I would do:

  1. Recreate the homepage with a blog layout to maintain consistency with the original site
  2. Recreate articles with high authority links using original content on similar topics and then add internal links to buying guides
  3. Publish buying guides for best beauty products for specific types of skin or types of people (e.g., “best blush for mature skin” has a KD 7 and volume 1,000)
  4. Publish informational articles that answer questions
  5. Publish informational content about specific stores or brands if low competition (e.g., “best X at [store name]”)

Monetization would be a combination of affiliate links to beauty products and display ads. There are many affiliate programs for beauty products that offer a higher commission rate of around 10% compared to Amazon’s 5% for the beauty category.

Growth Blueprint

  • Traffic is on the rise with more than 100K visits per month
  • Diversified revenue with many different sources
  • 440 posts have already been published
  • More than 50 digital products available in the shop
  • 20K email subscriber list

  • A significant portion of revenue comes from sponsored posts
  • Amazon KDP books need to be republished on a new account
  • Nontransferable affiliate deals

Easy Wins

  • Drive more traffic from Pinterest (currently at 15% of all traffic)
  • Improve CTR by adding better-placed and designed call to action elements
  • Replace sponsored posts with direct advertising deals

This is a great-looking site in the evergreen kid’s education niche. The seller covers the market with more than 440 articles and 50 digital products available in the shop.

A solid backlink profile backs the site with numerous .edu and .gov links. (,

The revenue is spread across 4 primary sources. The traffic is spread across organic (46%), direct (26%), and social traffic (18%).

As for setbacks, 19% of revenue comes from sponsored posts which is a nonreliable revenue source, and often such posts tend to lower the site’s authority. Also, some of the assets and affiliate deals are nontransferable.

The site is valued at $139,412, representing a 40X multiple of the last 12 months’ profit of $3,485. Given the trajectory and potential, this is a solid price for the site.

The only caveat that will lower the valuation is that 19% of revenue comes from sponsored posts. Our policy is to discount those revenues by 50%, effectively reducing the price by 10%. Finally, by dividing the reduced price by profit, the valuation will drop to 37X, a multiple you should aim for during the negotiation.

Flippa Site:

Do you want to buy a content website? Hire us to catch red flags.

Niche: Sports

Source: Flippa (see listing here)

Revenue: Unmonetized

Growth Blueprint

  • Chrome extension with more than 2,000 installations
  • More than 1,000 unique pageviews per month
  • Lengthy average time spent on a site (2m 56s)

  • Only two pages indexed according to Google
  • The design is outdated and requires an overhaul. Not a Wordpress site.

Easy Wins

  • Add chess-related educational content and improve revenue from display ads
  • Find affiliate partners (chess courses, chess coaching, etc.). Some affiliates offer 50%+ commissions
  • Develop a freemium model for the tool

This is an out-of-the-box site in the chess niche. It promotes a tool on a homepage that will predict your opponent’s next moves.

Currently, it is unmonetized but is gaining traction, with more than 4,000 unique visitors in the last three months.

It is a starter site with only two indexed pages. This could be a great pickup if you already have a site in this niche. You can merge those sites and get a solid instant traffic boost. Plus, the additional assets such as the Chrome extension help provide authority.

The seller has the site listed with a buy-it-now price of $5,000. The reserved price is set at $1,500.

If the website is to be monetized by display ads, it will earn around $50-70 per month. At a 35X multiple, that equates to $1,750 to $2,450. The reserve price in the Flippa listing seems fair, and as there are no bids with more than 100 views on Flippa, you could make an offer in the valuation range mentioned above.
