Since ranking on Google in the near future will likely be challenging, you should consider optimizing for alternative traffic sources such as other search engines, social media, or even paid traffic. - BrevardTimes.com: This site provided news for Brevard County, Florida, starting in 2011. It has a DR of 45 and is ranking for 118 KWs with backlinks from BBC, Wikipedia, and HuffPost.
